Mit brasilianischer Musik assoziiert man Bossa und Samba. Jazzig, lyrisch oder von afrikanischer Perkussivität. Renato Borghetti indes kommt von einem anderen musikalischen Planeten: dem südbrasilianischen Rio Grande do Sul, der Heimat der Gauchos, der südamerikanischen Cowboys, die musikalisch mehr mit dem benachbarten Argentinien teilen und unverwechselbare Formen wie den Chamamé, den Chacarera oder die Milonga hervorgebracht haben. Renato Borghetti: Der charismatische Gaucho ist eines jener musikalischen Unikate, die lokale Traditionen mit der Muttermilch aufgesogen, individuell weiterentwickelt und mit weiteren Formen (wie Tango, Samba und Jazz) durchsetzt haben. Mitten im Süden Brasiliens, im Herzen von Rio Grande do Sul, liegt eine Stadt namens Porto Alegre. Dies ist auch die sagenumwobene Gegend, wo Berge, Flüsse, Mate Tee, entspannte Musik und wilde Pferde aufeinandertreffen. Dort finden wir Gärten, die typischer Weise die Größe eines mittleren Europäischen Bezirkes haben…

Bossa and samba are associated with Brazilian music. Jazzy, lyrical or with African percussion. Renato Borghetti, meanwhile, comes from another musical planet: the southern Brazilian Rio Grande do Sul, home of the gauchos, the South American cowboys, who musically share more with neighboring Argentina and unmistakable forms such as the chamamé, the chacarera or that have produced milonga. Renato Borghetti: The charismatic gaucho is one of those musical one-offs that have sucked up local traditions with their mother's milk, developed them individually and interspersed them with other forms (such as tango, samba and jazz).
